This release updates Cube-a 4.3.12 and older versions.
What's new:

  • GPS
    - S500 SBAS fix (the option was not properly saved).

    - R80 tracking can be enabled in non-prism mode.

What's new:

  • Activation of the application
    - It is now possibile to use different Purchase Codes to enable current and future options/modules of the software.
    - The final configuration of the application will be determined by the "sum" of the features corresponding to the given purchase codes.
    - The user can activate additional Purchase Codes (up to a total of 3 codes) at any time.
    - The user can deactivate a Purchase Code at any time, however this operation can be performed a maximum of 3 times in total.
    - Activations and deactivations are immediate and automatic but yet monitored. An active Internet connection is required.
    - See Tools, Version & Updates, Activation Info screen.
  • Data import
    - Added "Skip initial rows" (0-5) option for CSV/TXT imports
  • TS
    - Slight changes in the internal workflow followed when measuring with R80 in tracking mode.
    - "Aim to GPS" command will check the RMS values of the GPS position:
      if RMS values are too high, a spiral prism search will start instead of a vertical search.
  • GPS
    - Quick Point survey mode was not using the user entered point name;
    - A program crash could occur after the user has edited the list of sent NMEA sentences from the device WebUI (to receive GGA sentences only);
    - SkyPlot and Satellite List views could show all satellites as colored (as if they were all used);
    - Non-L1 SNR values could show as N/A for devices which miss the optional GSV-extended sentence as provided by NMEA 4.10 standard.
  • Point lists
    - Internal enhancements to point lists access (to avoid problems when the user edits a point while the display is being refreshed in the background).

    - Fixed a problem which was causing a reset of satellite list (empty satellite list).

    - The application will now not proceed further when trying to enable the demo mode for TS (except for the R80 model).

  • GPS - Base Mode:
    - Added some missing options (raw data recording interval, point name, PDOP threshold limit).
      It is now possible to specify the antenna height also when using Current Coordinates/Autonomous base start up.
  • GPS - !! BETA PREVIEW - USE ONLY IN TEST SURVEYS !! - Change Base Station coordinates
    Before using this command: MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE JOB DATA.
    - In the Calibrate menu there is a new command called Change Station Coordinates: this command allows to change the coordinates of a selectable base station.
      The command can be used, for example, to enter the coordinates of an autonomous base station which was post-processed to get accurate coordinates or to move the base point into another reference frame.
      Cube-a will store the new base coordinates and next it will recompute the GPS coordinates of all collected GPS points.
      After the coordinates change, the project will be automatically closed and reloaded to ensure that all points in memory get correctly updated with the new coordinates.
  • GPS - Galileo
    - Some enhancements to the NMEA parser to properly list and count Galileo satellites.
  • UI - Show the update log at startup
    - Cube-a will automatically show the update log (this file) after the update has been installed.
      This will let all users to have some immediate information about the reasons for the update.
  • DXF - Text display:
    - DXF texts are now drawn filled with color (they were displayed as lines, not much visible sometimes).

This release updates Cube-a 4.3.9(C) and older versions.

What's new:

  • Devices with IMU sensor:
    - Calibration animations are shown only for tilt (not for the e-bubble)
    - Calibration animations can be disabled from the Sensor Options screen: if animations are disabled, the application shows text messages and uses voices to keep the user informed on the IMU sensor status and tilt correction availability.
  • Point lists:
    - The CODE columns have been expanded of 60% to make space for longer codes.
  • Feature code selection screen:
    - The last used code is automatically selected in the list of codes which also shows the full code list when opened.
      The list will be filtered by keyword when and only if the user writes something or if the (new) search button is pushed.
  • Localization:
    - Exporting the localization settings to file could fail (no written file and no error). The problem has been fixed.

This release updates Cube-a 4.3.9(A), Cube-a 4.3.8 and older versions.

This is a maintenance update for the following:

- USA Geoid12B was not working anymore because of a recent program flow change.
- Some time consuming operations were not showing the "wait" message.
- Fixed a problem when changing the geoid file which could result in the recalculation of the points' orthometric heights using no geoid at all (because the geoid was still loading in the background).
  Closing and reopeing the job file was anyway restoring the correct orthometric heights.
- Fixes to some concurrent operations which could interfere with each other.
- Fixed some unexpected and unwanted automatic switches to TS mode.
- Some more enhancements to make the application run faster.
- "A" series GNSS devices (Atlas): the application now programs the GGA output precision to use 7 decimal digits (rounding error of +/-0.18 mm or +/-0.04572 inches).

What's new:

  • Geoids:
    - new OSGM15 geoids (Ireland, Northern Ireland, GB);
  • Improvements:
    - RW5 export (GPS): with only 1 collected point, the RW5 was written with data of the base station but without the data of the collected point.
    - Saving the RTCM base point now suggests to use the true RTCM base name (instead of "Base_").
    - Disabling the option to show the tilt angle on screen did not make the angle disappear immediately.
    - Export as RAW Survey was using the antenna height of local base (now uses 0, i.e. keeps the original height).
    - Export as RAW Survey data contained %d,%.8f,%.8f,%.3f,%.3f,%.3 at the end of the data rows.
    - Fix Contents.id path to avoid WinZip(TM) showing an error message.

This release updates Cube-a 4.3.4 and older versions.
What's new:

  • Total Station:
    Free Station/Resection: an existing resection can now be recalled for editing.
    In the Free Station/Resection screen the button "Existing..." lets the user recall the settings and measures used to calculate the station.
    The station name cannot be changed and the number of reference points cannot change (thus reference point editing is allowed but adding/deleting reference points is not allowed). If the resection calculation is confirmed, the old resection data is overwritten by the new data (thus it is possible to fix instrument height, target heights, prism offsets and also to redo the measurements).
    Fieldbook (re-)calculation: the calculation has been enhanced to handle the results of resection editing.
  • DXF:
    DXF Import: imported DXF were always assumed to be in meters. The application now assumes that the DXF distances/coordinates are expressed using the unit of measure set in the System Settings.
    DXF Export: added the option to export as 2D (force Z=0).
  • Other:
    - File selection screens: more than one row could have a yellow background (selected row color);
    - Point library: fixed possible causes of crashes (screen updates occurring while still loading the data).

What's new:

  • Total Station:
    - HA Zero Set and Set HA commands now read the actual angles from the device after setting the wanted HA angle;
    - Bluetooth pairing with devices having pins 0000 or 1234 is now automatic (both pins are tried).
  • Elevation Control:
    - fixed an issue which caused "?" to be displayed for cut and fill values.
  • Geoid files:
    - added New Zealand quasi geoid 2016 (untested, customers feedback required);
  • Other:
    - the application could crash if the system automatically closed popup windows (wait messages);
    - more fixes to the NMEA parser to reduce CPU and memory usage;
    - other bug fixes to prevent out of memory errors if using the application for very long periods: keeping Cube-a running for days should not be a problem;
    - cancelling an ongoing GPS/TS connection could leave the application in an inconsistent state.

  • EOV-2014:

  • Stakeout:
    - 5 Hz stakeout could not be automatically enabled.
    - polylines can be broken into edges and such edges can be staked out as "lines";
    use the "hand pointing a line" in the Survey screen to select the polyline to stake, then click the "Stakeout all edges as lines" button when the "Layer Element" screen comes up.
  • Coding:
    - if all the CODEs in a library are numeric then the keyboard is automatically set to NUMBERS ONLY when searching by code;
    - pushing the NEXT or ENTER key will confirm the input of the code.
  • S10 calibration:
    - a problem has been fixed when retrieving the current calibration settings from the device.

This is a cumulative update: it includes all changes to the application that have been released by targeted updates and beta releases distributed between March and May 2019.

      - Coordinates conversion tools: it is now possible to enter latitude/longitude values in decimal degrees (as well as DMS).

v4.2.0(F) released on January 30th, 2019

This release updates Cube-a 4.2.0.20181126 and older.
This is a cumulative update that includes all changes to the application that have been released by targeted updates and beta releases distributed between December 2018 and January 2019.

What's new:

    • Some sounds are played while a position averaging or a Stop&Go point collection is in progress. Another beep signals the end of the point collection (before actually storing the point).
    • Share by WiFi function. Basically this starts an FTP Server on the Android device and you can connect to the FTP Server using an FTP Client on the PC side.
      This feature allows you to copy files from and into the Android device without the need of an USB cable.
      The Android device and the PC must be connected to the same WiFi network.
      To protect your device from unauthorized access, the connection is protected by customizable user name and password.
    • OpenStreetMap background layer (vector map only, see System Settings, Map Provider).
    • New geoids (Bangalore-India, Tanzania North, Denmark DVR90, Mexico GGM06, Sweden SW082000 and SW08RH70).
    • New USA Geoid12B (CONUS and all other zones: choose any .bin geoid file from /StonexCube/Geoid/USA/Geoid12B/; the correct geoid file will be automatically chosen by the application based on the actual coordinates of the point).
    • New View in Google Earth command.
      Note: points and CAD entities are "clamped to ground", that is, the heights are ignored and all features are placed on the ground following the terrain.
    • Stonex SC2000 support (WiFi or Bluetooth, rover only, GPS configuration must be performed from the WebUI (enable NMEA output via BT and/or WiFi on port 9000))
    • Generic NMEA support (Bluetooth, rover only).

      Tech note: if after this update you still cannot see the files from Windows then the MediaScanner database must be reset: clear cache and data files of MediaScanner and External Storage services from Settings|Apps & notifications|App info. You must select to show system apps to find the two services.

    • Reference Station names (bases) are now stored with the "RTCM-Ref" prefix (i.e. "50" becomes "RTCM-Ref 50").
      This to avoid reference stations and collected points having the same name.
    • The application now enforces the use of unique point names for each collected or imported point.
      In case of name collision, the ofending name is changed by appending a duplicate number between round brackets.
    • The Vector COGO function becomes Distance function: shows 3D/2D distances, dE/dN/dZ values.
    • The age of differential data is not checked against the user defined age limit when aRTK or Atlas are active.
    • Updated Polish language.
    • Italy, Pregeo DAT export: added an option to control if hidden points must be exported as GPS baselines (row 2, 3D) or as cadastral artifacts (rows 4 and 5, 2D).
    • Italy, raster image georeferencing: read the parameters from an EMP file.
      If a EMP file is found into the same folder of the raster image then the EMP file is read to extract the georeferencing parameters.
      In case both a World File and a EMP file are found then the World File is used.
    • Fixes to Custom Export formats (auto-save could not work on some devices).
    • Fixes to "Share after export" option (sharing was always starting even if the option was off).
    • Fixes to line stakeout (offset not showing).
